We all have moments!

Projection: An unconscious self-defence mechanism characterised by a person unconsciously attributing their own issues onto someone or something else as a form of delusion and denial.

I felt it necessary to begin with a brief definition because in order to understand one another, we might need to be able to identify certain behaviors. For years, I've looked for the cause and effect in situations. Becuase I feel the average person does not walk around looking for confrontation. Today was a perfect example of that Cause and Effect.
As I waited in line, I overheard the couple in front of me talk about how displeased they were with their rental car and the service they had received. As they approached the counter, the manager stated, "We have an employee in training, so please be patient." Without missing a beat, the couple says "Well if it is okay with you, could YOU please assist us. We have received conflicting information for two days and do not want to project our frustration on your new employee. We need help right now please". The manager smiled and responded, "Thank you so very much for that. I will assist you the best I can. " The manager resolved the couples issue in a matter of moments and gave them an upgrade on their car. Afterward, the manager told the new employee that he wished all frustrated customers were as open and understanding as them because it could have been a lot worse.
I thought about how much better life would be if more people were aware of their projection of frustration. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you should not get frustrated just make sure that the party receiving your frustration is the one that caused it or has a part in it. Just my thoughts while out and about.
